Currently, David is pursing his C.S.C.S as well as a masters degree in Exercise Physiology. He has been involved in personal training and sports conditioning for the past 10 years. He has improved the performance of several college athletes as well as many varsity athletes in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He holds a B.A in Communication with a minor in Physical Education from McMurry University (2003). Post graduation David was involved with McMurry University, Schriener University and Howard Payne University Division III athletic departments. He is the owner, lead instructor and lead programmer of CrossFit Denton County and currently runs True Advantage Strength and Conditioning, an athlete performance conditioning program.
In the Spring of 2010, David found his current nutrition was sub-par and not helping him in his quest for being fit. A friend turned David on to Whole9 and the relationship began. After attending a workshop in Austin, Texas, David went Whole30 for 56 days leading up to the 2010 CrossFit Games-Affiliate Cup. Him and his team all adopted the W9 nutrition and sough advice from Dallas and Melissa during their training leading up to the games. Since then, David, his dog Rip (named after Mark Ripetoe) and fiancee Lindsey have continued the W9 mentality when it comes to nutrition. He felt his change in diet/nutrition optimized his performance helping him achieve the results I wanted. Although not every day or every meal for that matter are 100% W9 approved, David still embodies the philosophy when he is disciplined enough
David is an avid hunter and enjoys the solitude of the open water of the local lakes as well as the wooded fields of the deer lease. His dog Rip, a mix between a pug and shar-pei is his constant companion at the gym. In the summer of 2011, David will marry his girlfriend of three years, Lindsey Sullivan.
