Badier Velji, Owner, The Lazy Caveman Health and Wellness

“My background is in Chemical Engineering, but I’ve had a love of fitness and nutrition for the past few years while trying to figure out what works best for my body. This led me to CrossFit, and that led me to Paleo, Robb Wolf and Whole9. As a scientist, the foundations of an anti-inflammatory, whole food approach made perfect sense. Once I cut out the junk, my energy rose, my food allergies disappeared and my chronic asthma subsided. Not to mention the fat loss and athletic improvements!

My first Whole30 was a little tough. I (brilliantly) started it right before a trip to Las Vegas for a conference. Amazingly though, I managed to navigate the menus filled with grains, dairy and sugar and came out a much healthier person. I figured, if I can get through Sin City without wavering, anyone can do a Whole30 and change their lives. By the last week, I was flying through and never wanted to return to a life of low fat and whole grains again. I continue to do a couple of Whole30’s every year just to eliminate all those little cheats that sneak in, and because of it, I’m in the best shape of my life and have never felt healthier.

The more I learn, the more I realize that this approach works for everyone, regardless of your previous health history or genetics. This gave me the impetus to start a one-on-one health coaching business. The work I do with my clients is truly fulfilling; I’m giving them the gift of health that took me so long to find.

I met Dallas and Melissa at a Foundations of Nutrition Workshop in March of 2011 and I could immediately tell they were in it for the same reasons. I’m really honored to join the Whole9 Envoys program and look forward to spreading the good food word to a larger audience.”
