The Paleo Pitch

The Paleo Pitch

One of our questions was submitted by Tim in Hawaii. Tim asked us to re-vamp our CrossFit Elevator Pitch, presenting a similar summary of the Paleo diet. Now, we may not be bio-chemists like Robb, and certainly couldn’t answer some of the more technical questions he takes on during his Podcasts, but the request for a Paleo Pitch was right up our alley. Jump and GO! (Our visit with Coach B)

While in San Diego two weeks ago, Dallas and I were lucky enough to visit "Coach B" (Mike Burgener, the famous Olympic lifting coach) at his home in southern California. We headed up in the afternoon to get a tour of his place, work with him on some Olympic lifting and then go eat some giant steaks. [...]

Post-Workshop Consultations

Sometimes, our best ideas come from our readers. Last month, we received an email from Anne, currently in school in Texas. Anne wrote, “Are there are any other packages or services you offer thatare in between the consultation and the workshop (like a two week consultation or a 30 min phone call you can add on to the price of a workshop)?” [...]

Unplug, then plug it back in

Unplug, then plug it back in

Often in our own health and fitness pursuits, we forget that practicing "the basics" are what got us this far. Our air squat drills earned us an overhead squat PR, our dead hang pull-up strength bought us our muscle-up, and eating a clean diet full of foods that make us healthy gave us the energy, body composition and performance gains we've been so happy with. [...]

Repost: The Carrot Train to Crazytown

It reminded me of my now-infamous Carrot Confrontation. I was participating in a discussion on a message board when someone asked what I eat in a typical day. I replied with a list of things I had eaten that morning - chicken, radishes, egg whites, spinach, olives... and carrots. I mentioned I had eaten almost an entire bag of baby carrots. At which point, another poster responded, "You should be careful about eating so many carrots. Carrots are pretty high in sugar." [...]

Be the 17th listener

We’re still on vacation on the Left Coast, but took a break from our nutrition workshop and training with Coach B to jump online to make a fun and exciting announcement!  The familiar refrain of “Robb Wolf, Andy Deas” will soon include a special addition… “And Whole9″.  Yes, Dallas and I will be making a [...]

Whole9 Features: CrossFit Ramstein

In February, we received a note from Captain Lauren Guilbert, trainer and athlete at CrossFit Ramstein in Germany. Lauren wrote to tell us about Ramstein's successful implementation of our Whole30 program, which developed into a 45 day affiliate-wide nutritional challenge called the "RAM45". [...]

Collaboration, cooperation and courtesy

We hope at this point, our Whole9 readers know how much we enjoy sharing good stuff with the community. (We like it so much, in fact, that we've recently made it our full-time jobs!) We've offered up everything from custom workouts to nutrition advice to injury rehabilitation tips, freely distributing all of this information to anyone and everyone interested in learning, sharing and participating in our little community. [...]

Site maintenance

Bear with us for another day or two as we complete some behind-the-scenes site maintenance. The blog looks a little funny, and the fish oil calculator is still in the process of being converted (or whatever our web guru does with stuff like that), but we’ll be back up and running ASAP.
