We started 2014 by launching Whole30.com so that the Whole30 program could have it’s own space to create a community and support network. This year we’ve worked to make Whole9 more clearly focused on creating dialog around all of our 9 factors and hope that it’s been meaningful and helpful to you on your journey.
Also this year, we launched the Whole9 Newsletter and updated the Whole9 Nutrition Guide so it’s not limited to use in gyms – there’s now a version for small businesses and other group leaders. It Starts With Food got a make-over and we recorded the audiobook version. Plus, we were working on our newest book which we were able to recently announce. The Whole30: The 30-Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom will be released April 21, 2015 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
Below (in order of publication) are the top articles from 2014 on Whole9Life.com. We’ve learned a lot since starting Whole9 and we’re looking forward to continuing to create a space here that stimulates discussion, motivation and positive change to help you live your Whole9Life.

already a subscriber. Bought the original “It Starts With Food” but after I read it I gave it to my mother I was so impressed. Did the whole 30 one time and it works! Then, life got in the way and I need new inspiration. I’d love to be able to listen to the book while I walk.
I have lent my book out and it has not been returned as yet. Having the audio version will be fantastic to listen to while I am walking or in the car!
I have the original “It starts with food” and I’ve been wanting the new audio version so I can listen to it on my way to and from work.
I’ll use Audible.com for the US
I want the whole 30 coming at me from all angles so that it’ll be in”grained” in me. Bwahaha! I’m a punny person. Own the book already so audio would be a good addition. U.S.

I did a Whole30 challenge with my daughter in September. She said “no sugar, no grains and no dairy!”, with just that instruction I felt so much better and have mainly stuck to the thinking when planning my meals and days. I think with some guidance and the audio book to fit into my schedule I could go that much further and rid myself of BP meds and feel fabulous! I’m looking forward to getting back on the plan!
I’m a very auditory learner and would like to better understand Whole30.
I am already a subscriber. I continue to lend out my hard cover book of It Starts With Food and while I do have a Kindle version I’m not one to read much on the Kindle. I have a 3 hour commute round trip and would love to be able to listen and learn while stuck in traffic. I’ve successfully completed one Whole30 and am preparing for another for January . I would use the us/ca.com audible website.
I’m a nurse and I want to be able to have more resources to improve my life & the lives of my patients through healthy food and honest nutritional information.
The Whole30 program made had a dramatic effect and improvement in my physical and psychological health and is a sustainable lifestyle. I have motivated others to also make changes, just by my positive example without having to force my beliefs on them. I travel frequently for work and utilizing the audio book would be very beneficial to constructively review the book on a continuing basis to reinforce the program in my life and to ensure I am well informed to answer questions from others.
ISWF has given me the tools to make the best decisions for me. When I make a choice that isn’t optimal I at least know it and it is a conscious decision. No more blind eating and now I know how to steer myself back toward the path for me!
I spend most of my work day in the car and having this resource in this format would enable me to learn during my commute! I love Whole30! Audible.com
I’m planning to do the Whole 30 for Lent this year (starting Feb. 18.). Plus I listen to audiobooks every day on Audible.com on my 21hour roundtrip commute in and out of DC so I would be so happy to win the audiobook!!.
I want to win the audio book because Santa did not leave me one for Christmas!
I would like to win a free copy of It Starts With Food because I strongly believe in consuming information through multiple forms of media. I have read It Starts With Food three times and it would be fantastic to listen to an audio version. Can’t wait for the video to come out :)
Your book and program are awesome. I have introduced the Whole 30 program (directly and indirectly) and your book to over 30 people. Currently at work a group of about 20 people just finished their first Whole 30!
I forgot to say Audible.com
I listen to audiobooks on my commute. The older I get, the more sure I am that something has to change. Maybe this book can be a guide for me. Audible.com (U.S.)
Heather Adams says
I’ve read “It Starts With Food” and loved it… but a voice in my ear as I travel from place to place would be a great way to help keep me on track as I get myself healthier!
Heather Adams says
And that should have Audible.com in the comment =)
To better understand why Whole 30 principles work during the second round of Whole 30 I’m starting on January 5. An audiobook so I can listen during my 3 hour daily round trip commute.
Ellen B says
I would love the audio book! I have the older version on kindle and I retain information better via auditory learning. Audible.com
I need this to help keep me on track in times of weakness.
.com please! Really been wanting to tryout whole30 to turn around my health just haven’t had the right resources. I could listen to audio on my 1.5 hrs of driving to/from work to really help me focus and be in the right mindset right at the beginning of the day that can influence the rest of the day and then on my drive home would be encouraging and motivating to continue when I get home!
I’m in the process of changing my diet to a healthier one, and more good information is always better. I’d use the US site.
I completed a whole30 in August and am about to embark on my second round on 1.1.15. I would love to have the audiobook to listen to whilst I am walking or driving in the car. An inspirational and motivating ebook! It would also be a great way to get my father to understand the science behind Whole30… He is reluctant to read the book but an audio book would be perfect! He has agreed to have a go at Whole30 on Jan 1. I can’t wait! :) audible.com.au PS I am already a subscriber

I would love the audio book to listen to while working out. I have the hard copy but gave it to my sister. US/CA (.com)
Forgot the why. I am starting my first Whole30 on January 1st and have only checked out the book at the library to read once. I really need it to be successful. Been a long hard year with loss of my father and stress eating. I am going to make 2015 the year I move past all the pain from the past. Already signed up. Are You Recovering or Just Resting? and This Article Sucks (Can You Go Just One Day Without Complaining?)
Just bought the Kindle version of the book and would love to have the audio to go along for when I am not able to site and “read”! It also helps me to hear and read the info. Beginning the Whole30 on January 1st with a fellow health coach. Use Audible via Amazn.com in the US. Thanks!
I am so grateful for this program! I borrowed the book originally from the library, but as I start another Whole30 I would love to be reminded about the basics and reasons for why I am doing what I am doing. Also I would listen on Audible.com!
I have two small girls so listening to your book while I am doing chores or driving will ensure I get it read much faster! Audible.com US!
Audible UK :P
I would love to listen to this on my way to work. I live the Whole30 life, and love it, but I have never read the book!

2015 is my year! I have always said I am what I eat but I need guidance in feeding myself and my family right! This audiobook is just what I need to listen while commuting in order to learn how to fuel our bodies and keep us healthier!
Need US version please! And thanks!
Jill LeClair says
I was introduced to Whole30 through my trainer several months ago and it seems to have solved many health issues I was having. I’ve been pulling from as many resources as I can find, following IG, blogs and reading your website. I even caught your brief appearance on Dr Oz. Having your book to listen to on my way to and from work and during my cardio workouts would pull it all together! Thank you for what you are doing to help people achieve better all around health!
Jill LeClair says
Comment should include Audible.com
I NEED this to tie it all together!!!! I have been following on instagram for several months, making recipes from weekly contributors, and started a whole30 in October that I did not fully complete. After several weeks of non-clean eating my skin issues, sleep issues, and energy issues are in full defunct again. I know this is the answer for me and my family. Audible.com us

I would use US/CA (.com). I would love to win the audible version because my husband would be able to listen to it on his commute and at work. We are starting a Whole30 this January to celebrate 5 years of #jerf – eating real food. He almost died from acute pancreatitis 5 years ago. I would give him this to enable him to take even more control of his dietary choices and not solely rely on what I decide we will eat.
I would use the U.S./CA audible.com. I would love to win this because I am just finishing my first whole 30 (Dec 30th) and didn’t read the book. Would like to read it for my second round starting Jan 5th.
I’m a busy Mompreneur that’s been learning about health and wellness and making over our family’s lifestyle over the last two years. I find it hard to sit and read these days so being able to listen while I work in the garden or kitchen or office will be a lifesaver! I use audible.com.
I can’t get enough personal development to share with my boyfriend when we go on walks together! And I’d be using audible.com!
I just subscribed to the newsletter a few days ago. I’ll be using audible US. I found out about whole30 a month, or so, ago and have been intrigued. I have celiac disease and a host of other issues. I start an internship in January with a commute so I would absolutely love to win an audio version of the book. I want to learn about the whole30 before jumping in so I can set myself up for success and get the most benefits from it. I’m excited and a bit scared to give it a go, but I know a change is needed!
I would use Audible.com. I haven’t had the chance to read the book and I am interested in knowing more information about this topic and the impact that it has on health. Also, I want to live a more healthy lifestyle.
I use audible.com. I want the audiobook so that I can get all the details about the program since I would like to try the full Whole 30 in 2015 and haven’t been able to purchase the book.
I’ve completed 2 whole30’s this year and I’m starting a whole100 in January in order to continue making this a lifestyle change and not a diet. I have encouraged multiple friends and family members to look into whole30 and the lifestyle it encourages. Several have completed the whole30 and have changed their lives. I’ve read the book, but I want to listen to the audiobook as a refresher so I can continue to answer the more scientific questions that relate to food. I use audible.com.
US/CAN. I desperately need a diet makeover. I need to lose about 50 lbs. Since going thru menapause. I could listen to and from work each day to motivate me.
Sarah Clayton says
New to this and sooo need this to jumpstart my health! Grateful for all your hard work to help those like me greatly improve my health and quality of life. I’m easily distracted while trying to read (too much sugar?!) so audio copy would be oh so helpful. US/CA listener. Blessings!
Nancy Johnson says
I borrowed it from the library to get started. We did a 30 day challenge and although old habits were hard to break, we felt so much better. Slowly, we have reverted to bad habits and need to make this a lifestyle in 2015 not a restart. We use US/CAN audible.

As have many others, I’ve given my original copy of your book away (as well as purchased additional copies as gifts.) Now it’s time for me to HEAR what you have to say, and imbed that information in my brain as I do my next whole30. I’ll be using audible.com. Thanks for all you do, Melissa and Dallas!
This year I am transitioning from a corporate job to an Encore Career in whole-wellness coaching. I’ve been following Whole9 on Facebook and find the approach sensible and accessible. Since I commute an hour to work, the audio book will be a great way to reinforce my readings. I’d use .com version … Thank you for sharing your journey.
US/CA version please!

getting motivated to do it again and make some permanent lifestyle changes.
Hi. I’d love to win this audible book as I find it difficult to read normal books now as my retinas are detaching. I’ve heard this is a brilliant book & so would love to win a copy to listen to it to help me on my health journey :))
I’m about to start a Whole30 and could use the inspiration and motivation! Audible.com would be the website I would use if I were lucky enough to win! Keep up the great work!!!”
I’d love to win the U.S. .com version. After vacation, I have to go shopping anyway, and I want to revamp my pantry the right way – and feel the benefits! This will greatly help with that while I ride my early morning bike workouts!
US/CA version. Having the audio version would be so awesome! I could listen to it while traveling, working on the house and garden and while my kindle version is on loan to friends. Have a Whole 30 party and listen/discuss a chapter at a time with friends who are interested. I did my first Whole 30 back in April, actual whole 60. Jumping back in Jan. 1 for another. Whole 30 is the perfect tool I needed to really get a grip on my issues. I have a lot of work to do, but now I know with whole thirty it is possible to overcome them. I can not thank you and Dallas enough.
I need some guidance on how to eat for the best health.
Doing my third Whole 30. I kept up for the majority of time after and loved it, but for the last couple months, I went astray. :(
Having verbal help through Audible (US/CA version) will help seal the deal.

Oh and I am in the Us and will be using audible.com
I am one week out of a hysterectomy and can only walk now. By winning, it would encourage me to keep walking as I listen to the book, help me to get diet under control and begin the healthiest and happiest of New Years.
And audible.com. Duh. I forgot that part.

I tried whole 30 with my daughter last year and we loved the way we felt…just using a food list we printed off the website.. Id love to learn more and always prefer audio versions when available because I can listen while I drive, workout, or clean house instead of waiting for free time which seems to never happen.. I would use audible.com / US… Thank you!
Already a subscriber to the newsletter. Really want to win the audiobook! I’ve done 4 whole30’s and am starting a new one January. 1. Read the book but I lead a lot of people thru whole30 and would like to be more familiar with the sciency stuff so I can answer questions and help people! I use audible.com

Audible.com US. I need help and motivation to not give up. I did a whole 30 when I started teaching and failed. This time I WILL make it happen. I’m prepared but I know that I need reminders. I can listen to this at the gym and on my way to work….reminding me of what I missed when I read it.
