In preparation for tomorrow’s January Whole30 completion…
Congratulations! Your Whole30® is officially over – not that you’ll be running right out and diving into a box of donuts, of course. Whether it’s your first, second or tenth Whole30, this article is for you – part homework, part sound-off, and part pat-on-the-back.
Homework #1: Take a Picture

First, our newest initiative. They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, so we’re gathering photos to document your Whole30 achievements. It’s simple:
- Write your accomplishment(s) on a 8-1/2 x 11 piece of paper (held horizontally) with a bright, bold marker.
- Keep it short (and legible). Statements like “I lost 16 pounds,” “No more seasonal allergies!” or “I’m off my diabetes medication” are perfect.
- Take a photo of you holding your sign, from the waist up. (Don’t forget to SMILE!)
- Email your photo to us (whole30@whole9life.com) – and feel free to show off (we mean post your photo) to our Whole30 Facebook page.
Get to snappin’, because you never know who YOU will inspire with your Whole30 Success Story.
Homework #2: Share Your Story

Additional assignments… because we’d REALLY like to hear about your Whole30 results. Please take a few minutes to contribute your story to:
- Our ONE QUESTION Whole30 weight loss survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/whole30weightloss
- Our Whole30 A-Z testimonial post: http://whole9life.com/2011/06/the-whole30-a-z-real-life-testimonials/
- Link to your own wrap-up blog post on the Whole30 Facebook page, so we can ALL read about your Whole30 experience – lessons learned, results achieved, and “go-forward” plans.
Homework #3: Prepare For Your Whole9 Life

Next assignment - read (or -re-read) Chapter 20 (Strategies for Long-Term Success) in It Starts With Food. This chapter outlines our plan for turning your Whole30 into your Whole9 Life, ensuring you don’t permanently slip back into old unhealthy habits.
Don’t have the book yet? These articles will get you started, and the “Life After Your Whole30″ section of our Whole30 Forum will keep you going.

down 20 lbs,
waist: -11 cm; hips: -8 cm; bust: -12 cm
BUT more importanlty: no more pills for my acid reflux because I HAVE no acid reflux anymore!
This was my third Whole30, and since I’d never done the reintroduction part before, I want to do that this time so that I truly know how less healthy foods (primarily dairy and non-gluten grains) affect me. However, now that I’m on my 30th day, I’m not feeling the magic like I have on previous occasions–I’m still experiencing some digestive issues, my skin is not clearing, and my energy levels aren’t as good as what I’ve had on previous Whole30s.
That said, my own particular context this time has a LOT to do with that. Instead of being in decent physical condition to start with, and on a regular exercise program, I’ve been struggling with some low back & sacroiliac joint issues. I was almost back to 100% when I fell on an icy patch a couple of days ago, so that has set me back. I was also coming off of 5 solid months of eating like a complete fool after my previous Whole30. We’re talking a pizza-and-dessert-filled trip to New York City, followed by the development of a serious Doritos and cheap chocolate candy habit after I got home.
I have more work to do, so I’m continuing on. I don’t see this as a bad thing–I’m listening to my body, I’m getting into a good “groove” with eating healthy foods, and I AM experiencing some improvements, such as better sleep, kicking my caffeine habit, losing some inches around my waist (not sure how many, but clothes are fitting better), and magically dodging the cold that my husband and son have shared over the past week and a half. I’m feeling better, but I know that I can feel better still, and I want that. I want to do this right this time, and make a real, permanent change in how I eat. I don’t want to fall back into my old habits ever again.
Thank you for all of the support and the great info!! The Whole30 Daily was a particularly nice touch this time around.
