Introducing the Whole30® Daily

We’ve offered our Whole30® program free on our website since April 2009, and tens of thousands* of people have done the program on their own with great results. But over the years, we’ve realized people want more support, more guidance, more personalized attention than we can provide in the “rules” of the Whole30.

So we developed a series of resources, designed to help you rock your Whole30 like never before. Our new book, It Starts With Food, details the “why,” the “how,” and the “what happens next?” of the Whole30 in an entertaining, accessible manner. Our free Whole30 forum is your one-stop-shop for questions, answers, community, and accountability. But still, we thought, can we do more to facilitate your Whole30 success?

We sure can.

Today, as part of a superstar collaboration with the fabulous Melissa Joulwan (author of Well Fed and blogess at The Clothes Make the Girl), we’re rolling out a brand new support system for your Whole30—a daily communication from us to you.

Introducing the Whole30® Daily: a newsletter and daily check-in system to prepare you, motivate you, and ensure your success, every single day of your Whole30 adventure.

Grounded in Habit Research

These aren’t just links to articles you’ve already read or resources you’ve already got. (We didn’t just recycle information from our Success Guide, either.) No, we’ve created 32 days (including a Day 0 and Day 31) of  content, written just for you, specific to that particular day of your program. And after watching  this many people run through our Whole30 program, you can bet your booty we know exactly what you need (and when) to succeed.

The idea for the Whole30 Daily came from science—habit research, to be specific. Studies and trials show that when trying to commit to a new habit (like quitting smoking, beginning an exercise program, or eating healthier), daily check-ins foster twice the success rate, reduce “slips” caused by lingering cravings, and leads to greater success long-term.

But it’s not just about the daily check-in… the type of message matters. In a study of overweight teens, positive messages proved to be the key to weight loss success. In particular, test subjects responded poorly to negative “warnings” about their unhealthy behaviors, but were far more responsive to instructional messages, recipe messages, and messages about approaches to weight loss, .

Which is exactly how we designed our Whole30 Daily—daily check-ins full of positive messages.

What’s in it for you?

The Whole30 Daily is our way of checking in with you during every single day of your Whole30, filling your in-box with positive messages, helpful instructions, and a vast number of resources. We’ll provide you with specially developed guidance; resources to make shopping, prepping, cooking, avoiding temptation, exercising, sleeping, and managing your stress that much easier during your program; and give you introspective assignments designed to keep you focused and aware during every stage of your program.

And at the end of every day, you’ll get to click the button that says, “Yes, I rocked my Whole30 today!” (and be rewarded with a fun little internet treat, too).

The best part? Your Whole30 Daily subscription costs less than 50 cents a day.

We’ll be launching this new service on Friday, July 27th, just in time for you to subscribe for the Whole30 Daily before our next official Whole30 starts on August 1st. So stay tuned for more information on our new sign-up page, launching tomorrow.

This sounds really good! I cannot wait to sign up!

One concern: I hope that stress relief advice isn’t Kundalini yoga/meditation/chanting. That is more of a religious practice, although many that practice would argue it is not. It’s up for debate.

So, I think that the advice about stress relief/meditation/quiet time, whatever you want to call it, should be more generic, so as to include all, regardless of their beliefs.

    Thank you!

AWEEEEEEEEEEESOME. I am SO glad about this!! Love your program, love your lifestyle, LOVE your efforts to change the world. It truely DOES start with food.

    Yay!

I’m organizing a number of people at the gym I go to for a Whole30 in August. However, we aren’t starting until August 6th – is it possible to subscribe to/use Whole30 Daily for Whole30s starting on a date other than the 1st of the month?

    Thanks much!

  5. Melissa @Whole9 26 July, 2012 at 12:16 pm #

Shea – yes, that’s the beauty of the Daily! You sign up and choose exactly what day you want to start – tomorrow, a month from now, or January 1st. (The only caveat is it can’t be today, as we’ve got a Day 0 email to send, as part of your preparation.)

We are finalizing the details of the sign-up page now – really excited to roll this out tomorrow! It should be live by noon Eastern time.

    Best,
    Melissa

Will the daily be entirely suitable for AIP people? There is a large percentage of people that have auto-immune disorders, and a huge gap in information and support that applies to us. Please?!!

  7. Jen 26 July, 2012 at 1:40 pm #

This sounds wonderful – and just what I need. I’m on day 8 of my Whole30. Will I be able to get the emails since I’ve already started? (Fingers crossed!)

  8. Melissa @Whole9 26 July, 2012 at 2:02 pm #

Jolaine, the information is not tailored to any specific populations, nor is it a “prescription” for your Whole30. It’s designed to provide you with some background information for each day (why you feel the way you do, what’s happening in your body, what you can expect); resources to help you along every stage of the program; and advice based on what we know participants need to really reach their Whole30 goals.

So yes, it’s entirely applicable for those with autoimmune conditions, but don’t expect information designed to tailor a Whole30 with an AI protocol. We do cover that in detail in our book, however, It Starts With Food (http://bit.ly/whole9iswf).

Jen, unfortunately the emails are scheduled to go out one day at a time, and you can only jump on from Day 0. So… you could either continue with your Whole30 until August 1st, at which time you’d start over on Day 0 and get each email as it’s designed to coincide with your actual day (bonus – a few extra weeks of Whole30 for you!), or you could wait until you’re ready to start your next Whole30 in a few months, and use the subscription to help you then.

    Best,
    Melissa

When will we be able to sign up? Where do we sign up?

  10. Melissa Hartwig 27 July, 2012 at 11:44 am #

Stacey, we’re working on it! We were ready to launch, and something broke with our SSL encryption (which keeps your credit card information safe). We’re fixing it now, and will make a big announcement when we’re good to go – hopefully within the next few hours.

Thank you Melissa! So excited to be able to earn the right to click a “I rocked the Whole 30″ button at the end of the day!! What a FANTASTIC option for those of us with self-diagnosed OCD : )

I am finishing up my first w30 on monday. I knew there was going to be an offcial one in Aug. but Jul was a better time for me to do it. I’ve loved it and am sure I’ll do it again, but don’t know when. My question is–will this be available on the website to sign up for any time? Or would I need to sign up now, and save the emails for when I do my next w30?

  13. Melissa @Whole9 27 July, 2012 at 12:40 pm #

Sara, you’ll be able to sign up and choose a start date any time you want – from August 1st to August 1st, 2014! We plan to continue this service indefinitely, as long as people are benefiting from the material.

    Best,
    Melissa

I have subscribed and plan on ordering the Premade Paleo Whole 30 approved, 5 oz, meal plan. I remember seeing a post somewhere that included a discount code for this particular order but can’t seem to find it now. Do you have that information available so I can have it to place my order?

    Thank you so much !
    Stacey

  17. Melissa @Whole9 29 July, 2012 at 1:02 pm #

    Stacey,

You don’t need a code, you just need to order through our special link!

I started the Whole30 on August 1 but didn’t see this offering until today. If I signed up now would be at day 8 or day 1? Would it be appropriate to sign up today?

    Thanks,
    Lisa

  24. Melissa @Whole9 8 August, 2012 at 10:30 am #

    Lisa,

We can catch you up. Sign up at http://daily.whole9life.com and select today as your start date. Then send an email to daily@whole9life.com with the email address you used to register, and request that your start date be backed up to the 1st. We’ll send you the first 8 days, and catch you up to Day 9 tomorrow.

    Hi Melissa,

I am wondering if you can change my date. I hit reset and it started me over at Day 0 but I was ready sto start Day 1 again instead of 0. So unfortunately, I am on day 3 yet recieving day 2 emails is there a way to change this?

    Thanks,

    Cheri

Just thought I’d add my two cents for those who are wondering about whether to purchase the Whole30 Daily email program. Do it! There is very helpful, entertaining, and motivational information that is worth every penny for those new to the program and for experienced paleo eaters, as well.
