In a flurry of creative energy (and in an effort to give the people what they want, a popular topic in today’s current events) Gourmet Grassfed is sponsoring a special contest just for Whole9 readers. But first, some background.
Gourmet Grassfed makes Whole30 Approved jerky, 100% grass-fed, organic and delicious. Their first Whole30-approved flavor, Original Bold, was such a hit that they were inspired to create a second flavor, Cherry Chipotle. While the Cherry isn’t yet Whole30 approved (due to added sugar in the cherries), they’ve got a compliant sugar-free recipe in the works, and hope to roll that out shortly. (Which is great news, because the flavor is amazing.)
Our discussions about how to make their Cherry Chipotle flavor Whole30-approved, and our readers’ desire for a wider variety of portable, high-quality protein snacks, is what sparked the idea for this contest.
Power to the People!
You asked for healthy, tasty options for your portable protein sources, and Gourmet Grassfed has accepted the challenge. We are committed to giving Whole9 readers an exciting new variety of beef jerky… but we need your help. We need you to submit your idea for a new Whole30-approved Gourmet Grassfed jerky flavor, and help your fellow healthy eaters enjoy a wider variety of grass-fed, organic, portable protein snacks.
One lucky fan’s recipe will be chosen, created, approved by Whole9 as suitable for our Whole30 program, and produced on a national scale. In addition, the creator of the winning flavor will recieve a two-month supply of the Whole30-approved favorite, Bold Original Beef Jerky (a $225 value).
And all you have to do is imagine what you’d like to be snacking on the next time you’re on an airplane, hiking, on a road trip or stuck in a business meeting without your lunch. (Don’t worry about the recipe itself – leave that to Gourmet Grassfed. All we need is your flavor idea!)

This is a marinade I use at home for chicken and pork. If you could replicate something like this for jerky I think it would be amazing. We call it alien chicken or area 54 chicken because it turns the meat green!
large bunch of parsley, lots of fresh garlic, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, sea salt (to taste)
Puree in a food processor
Marinate for several hours or even better overnight
grill and eat
YUM!
