My new Oly shoes are H.O.T.

**17 hour fast**

Sweet flying Jesus, am I sore. My lats are killing me. Kipping is hard work.

Repeating a workout from mid-July, press for sets of 2.

Warm-up

I have just come to accept that shoulder progressions are slow going. However, my 1RM is 65#, so I got that up twice today. I think next time out, I’m going for 70#.

Skill work:

Split jerks and ring dips

  • SJ 5 @45#
  • 7 ring dips (band assisted)
  • SJ 5 @ 55#
  • 7 ring dips
  • SJ 5 @ 60#
  • 7 ring dips

So I’ve worked split jerks maybe once before… I’m super inconsistent with form, which is why I’m not putting weight up yet. I need to watch some videos and read some tutorials. I suspect I’m not lunging enough in my landing, and I think my feet are too close together – I need a bit of a wider stance to gain some stability.

I will be practicing these a LOT more, as my shoes make a loud noise when I land and split jerks make me feel bad-ass.
