Sounds high-tech, doesn’t it? Our practice is actually far more intuitive than that. Our basic premise is simple:
We believe nutrition is the gateway to good health – that improvements in everything from body composition to injury rehabilitation to athletic performance can be best realized through good nutrition.
However, diet alone won’t get you to your health and fitness goals. There are other factors that play their own part, each contributing in their own way, and dependent upon each other. Strength gains demand not only good nutrition, but quality sleep and active recovery. Successful stress management requires fun and play as well as vigorous exercise. None of these factors exist in a vacuum – they all fuse together to produce your current level of health and fitness.
Here’s where it gets complicated. With so many variables, it can be tough to know where to focus, and what to do. Should you eat less or train more? Do you wake up early to go to the gym, or get an extra hour of sleep? To make it even more frustrating, sometimes the harder you try, the less progress you make – and you have no idea what you’re doing wrong. (Hint: It won’t matter if your nutrition is perfect if you’re chronically over-tired, people.)
The cold, hard truth is that what you think you should do may not be what you actually need to do.
